History

Fowlers of Bristol (Engineers) Ltd was originally part of a cycle and motor cycle business started in 1918 by Frank Fowler. To survive during the second world war the company was forced to diversify into engineering which since 1950 has been located at the current premises. In 1961 the business became a private limited company completely separate from the motorcycle business, although still owned by members of the Fowler family.

From the 1960's through to the early 90's the major customers came from the region's Aerospace Industry and included the Dowty Engineering Group and Rolls Royce, there were also one or two significant customers from the commercial sector including Rank Xerox.

From the early/mid 90's to present day the company has maintained a presence in the Aerospace industry but also has attracted major customers from the commercial and automotive sector, this along with the development of it's own products (metal hanging systems for pvc strip curtains and doors) means that the company is not over reliant on one particular customer or one particular industry, which in the current economic climate is seen as an important safety net.
