A Bright Future ahead
After a very challenging 18 months we are now expanding and investing in new equipment, first to arrive is a Mazak VTC760c which will increase our milling capacity and capability, this is closely followed by a MACH SL203-B Heavy Duty, Multi-Tasking Turning Centre.
The impressive Mazak VTC – 760C
Fowlers have welcomed the month of October with a bang. We started the month by celebrating our 60th Anniversary as a limited company by watching Bristol Bears against the Romans!! We will end the month with the arrival of a new and larger vertical machining centre from Mazak, this machine tool is capable of machining up to 1740mm in the X direction and 760mm in the Y direction, it comes with a fourth axis and Renishaw probing for measuring the workpiece as it is being machined, this impressive piece of equipment will sit alongside our other machine tools and give us the ability to machine larger and heavier workpieces, this is essential for our Nuclear contracts and some of the larger Defence & Aerospace work, The Mach SL203-B is a heavy duty, multi-tasking turning centre with an oversized turret for driven tools, it is an ideal machine tool for us that will eliminate secondary milling ops, increase our turning capacity and enable us to bring existing work back in house.
Mapping out the positions
A lot of hard work and careful planning has gone into bringing these machines in to our factory. Here is the marked positions on our shop floor. The electrics and data inputs are now installed and we are very much ready to bring these machines in and commission them.
